A guided meditation practice at Hayagriva Buddhist Centre.
Exploring Meditation will introduce methods to bring about enduring positive changes through the practice of meditation. The course will explore the basic components and types of meditation, how to train in calm abiding , the stages in which different mental states are developed, and the four close applications of mindfulness.
These one hour classes are designed for a beginner to build an understanding of the Tibetan language in order to connect more deeply with the meaning of common prayers and chants.
Open to those who have received an initiation into the practice by a qualified Lama. Those who have received a Yamantaka Initiation can do the first half of the Self-Initiation (long Sadhana). Only those who have completed the Retreat and Fire puja can do the full-length Self-Initiation. This practice may be led by our resident …

In this course, we investigate the role of the teacher on the spiritual path. We will also look at the qualities of a teacher and of a student, how to avoid common mistakes and how to cultivate a teacher-student relationship for the greatest benefit in our spiritual practice.
