Hayagriva Albany Buddhist Group located in Albany Western Australia is an outreach study group of the Hayagriva Buddhist Centre (Perth). Founded in 2011 the group offers meditation classes, short courses such as ‘How to Meditate’, ‘Buddhism in a Nutshell’ and the ‘Discovering Buddhism‘ series on a regular basis. There is a small but extensive library for ‘Friends’ to use.

The group is facilitated by Julia Kelly, an experienced western student who works closely with visiting teachers such as Venerable Thubten Dondrub (May 2012), Venerable Tony Beaumont (Nov 2014), Venerable Robina Courtin (July 2016). Virtual classes are sometimes held, such as with Venerable Jampa Dekyi (2010) and Geshe Thubten Wangchen from New Zealand.

The Drop In Meditation classes on Sundays are guided and are suitable for new and experienced meditators. The small group welcomes everyone and is delighted to be able to provide support and services for people visiting or living in the Great Southern.

Our centre winds down for the summer months from 1 December starting up again around 1 February. We wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday season and look forward to seeing you in 2017.
